About the Role

We are looking for an experienced leader to join our engineering leadership team to drive rapid delivery of high impact product capabilities and manage a team of staff level software engineers. You will help align our team with collaborators and stakeholders from across the organization including engineering, product, clinical, and operations. to put the team in the best position to deliver high-value work. Your team will build and maintain web-based tools, integrate those tools with third party systems, and oversee the delivery and implementation of systems that enable our care teams to serve our members in underserved areas of the country. In this role, you will manage, mentor, and motivate the team; you will help the team to produce and celebrate their best work.

You must love engineering, engineering management, and working with others to get excited about the possibilities our products create. You are curious about and have experience using AI-first workflows and AI-driven products to accelerate experimentation and development. You are excited to leverage these capabilities to deliver transformational engineering products. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and approach with your colleagues through pair programming.

You will join our Engineering team of approximately twenty which works closely with our design, product management, data science, and clinical operations teams to create a digital product experience tailored to our Member’s needs. The Engineering team also works closely with Data Platform, Reporting and Analytics, and other functions to deliver complete capabilities that can be put to use immediately to harness the potential of tech-enabled solutions.

Our existing applications generally use React, GraphQL, Typescript, and Postgresql. Our platform tech stack is built on top of Google Cloud Platform. Experience with using these technologies or similar to deliver complete systems and understand how they interact and scale is critical.

You will:

  • Join our team of engineering leaders in developing and executing the strategic direction of the organization.

  • Manage a team of technical leaders and individual contributors.

  • Write, and review, well tested and scalable code up and down the stack and across systems as needed.

  • Ensure we are using industry best practices for producing reliable software that works.

  • Help recruit highly capable engineers to the team from diverse backgrounds.

  • Collaborate with our clinical teams and operational partners to gather requirements and solve problems.

  • Work closely with design & product to build user-facing features that are highly efficient to support field-based operations and engage patients.

  • Come up to speed on how healthcare works (or doesn’t) to support those who need it most.

  • Mentor junior engineers, new team members, and apply technical expertise to help others grow effectively

Requirements for the Role:

  • You are invigorated, rather than daunted, by the challenge of building great health tech.

  • You have a bias to action and a willingness to be accountable and responsible for product velocity and impact.

  • You are a skilled communicator and partner when working with fellow technologists and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You have 5+ years experience writing production code.

  • Experience leading and mentoring members of an engineering team.

  • You have a passion for doing mission-oriented work.

  • You enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different experiences and expertise.

  • Maintain strong relationships with your collaborators such as members of the product team, clinical, and operational stakeholders, as well as your fellow platform and product engineering colleagues.

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is:

$220,000 - $235,000 Annually
