Founded in June 2023, Crete Professionals Alliance (Crete PA) aims to drive growth across accounting and professional service firms in the United States. Our initial venture in August 2023 involved acquiring a majority interest in the non-attest assets of a top 300 US-based national firm, positioning us alongside the top 100 US accounting firms based on cumulative revenue. With over ten partner firms, several deals under LOI, and substantial committed capital, Crete PA is poised to shortly become equivalent to a top 40 firm in terms of aggregate revenue, with ambitions to expand into a multi-country platform. Supported by ZBS Partners, a firm managing over $500 million in assets, and led by co-founders experienced in developing multi-industry platforms, Crete PA partners with local firms to enhance their independence while boosting their revenue and profitability.
Our partner firm, Reid Accountants + Advisors, is hiring! Reid Accountants + Advisors is an independent, full-service certified public accounting firm specializing in accounting and consulting services for businesses and individuals. We currently have offices in Long Island and NYC. Join a rapidly growing organization with a strategic vision and dynamic plan.
The Tax Director is responsible to direct engagements while coordinating with Staff and supervising a team assigned to these engagements. The Tax Director will consult with Partners and engage with clients to develop a rapport by leveraging complex research and analyzation of sophisticated tax strategies.
Key Objectives:
· Be proficient in the preparation of various tax returns, including but not limited to – individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership and Multistate
· Competency in all phases of accounting and tax, including performing tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance and research
· Demonstrates proficiency through technical knowledge of accounting and reporting standards in areas such as researching, completing, and reviewing technical areas.
· Identifies tax risk management issues and proposes potential solutions through research and collaboration with engagement Partner
· Ability to review tax procedures, and financial statements with no supervision
· Facilitates tax review of returns, and audits for accuracy of data and communication
· Monitors tasks assigned to team ensuring that all questions are answered. Checks for clarity of communication by monitoring tasks, reviewing workflow and ensuring that the team completes all tasks on a timely basis
· Oversees team and coordinates the day-to-day duties of planning, tax work, and wrap-up
· Communicates to Partners any client issues and work status to ensure timeliness
· Supervise, train and mentor tax staff
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Required)
CPA (Required)
At least 10 years of experience in a CPA firm with 5 years of supervisory experience
Experience using UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Intuit products (Preferred)
· Ability to work independently and to inspire a team to drive results through efficiencies
· Strong experience using Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and Intuit QuickBooks.
· Strong verbal and written communication
· Able to provide positive feedback, constructive direction through proper coaching and mentoring
· Strong attention to detail and time management
· Ability to prioritize and assign tasks based on skill set of team
· High degree of decision making
· Moderate degree of independence
· Consistent communication with Partner, Client and team to ensure that desired results are timely, accurate perceived as positive in nature
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday in office from 9:00am – 5:30pm - Hybrid with increased hours for busy seasons
Ability to commute/relocate: Woodbury (Long Island), NY : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working
hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in
managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting
business needs.

offers a competitive salary range of $160K – $220K annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
