One of our network CPA firms, located in Tucson, AZ is hiring! This is an in-office position and is NOT remote.

Work Type: Full-time
Work Arrangement: In-office work arrangement Mon – Fri
Salary: 60K - 80K – junior or senior project manager role with emphasis on tax. Salary based on experience, certifications, and other qualifications.
Please note: Training will be available to the right candidate.
Position Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing tax-related projects within the organization. This role combines project management skills with tax knowledge to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Project Manager will work closely with the tax team, cross-functional departments, and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:
Lead and manage multiple tax projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects align with organizational goals and deadlines.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to stay on track with deadlines and budget.

Collaboration & Communication:
Serve as the main point of contact between tax and other departments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Coordinate with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and vendors, to facilitate project deliverables.
Provide regular project updates and status reports to senior management and other key stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Strategy:
Identify and recommend process improvements for tax functions, contributing to the enhancement of efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Assist in the implementation of new tax systems or tools, ensuring smooth integration and user training.

Risk & Compliance Management:
Ensure that all projects adhere to internal controls, tax standards (GAAP, IFRS), and regulatory requirements.
Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
Ensure project deliverables are properly documented and stored for future reference and audit purposes.

Team Leadership & Development:
Coordinate teams of accountants or cross-functional team members working on the project, providing guidance and support.
Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members to promote growth and development.

Budget Management:
Track project budgets, ensuring that Tax projects are delivered on budget.
Qualifications:

Education:
BA preferred
PMP or other relevant certifications preferred but not required.

Experience:
2-3 years of project management experience.
Experience managing tax or finance-related projects a plus.

Skills & Competencies:
Strong project management skills, including proficiency in project management software.
Intermediate to Advanced skills with Excel
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
