Job Title: Manager, U.S. Taxation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor the performance of multiple discrete client engagement delivery teams by directly managing a team of pod leaders/reviewers and indirectly supervising the work of tax preparers

  • Lead the preparation and review of U.S. federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other business entities.

  • Advise clients on strategic tax planning, including business structures, international tax matters, mergers and acquisitions, and tax-efficient strategies.

  • Ensure all U.S. tax filings comply with federal and state regulations, including monitoring and implementing changes in tax laws.

  • Oversee and manage the tax provision process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve complex tax issues, address IRS notices, and develop effective solutions.

  • Manage and mentor junior tax staff, providing leadership and guidance on tax compliance and planning tasks.

  • Prepare and present tax-related reports to senior management and clients, providing clear and actionable insights.

  • Build strong client relationships by offering timely advice, maintaining open communication, and ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. tax compliance, planning, and strategy.

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. tax laws, IRS procedures, and federal and state tax return filings for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.

  • Experience in handling international tax issues, including tax treaties, cross-border transactions, and U.S. reporting for foreign entities.

  • Advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in U.S. tax software (e.g., UltraTax, Thomson Reuters, ProSystem fx) is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax issues to clients and team members in an understandable way.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage client relationships remotely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with U.S. expatriate tax services or cross-border taxation.

  • Background in both public accounting and corporate tax roles.

  • Expertise in international tax compliance, FATCA/CRS reporting, and transfer pricing.
