Position: Staff Accountant

Compensation: Starts at $60K annually

Job Summary: Under moderate supervision, the Staff Accountant position is accountable for tax, audit, or accounting functions of smaller engagements; with increased client contact, more complex technical challenges, and beginning supervisory responsibilities for the work of lower-level professional staff.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s in accounting and CPA preferred.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Well organized with good time management and multi-tasking skills

• Works well in a team environment and ability to maintain positive relationships with work teams and customers/clients

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Preferred experience using Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, UltraTax and Advance Flow

• Ability to work and think independently

• Must be able to develop working knowledge of in-house software packages.

• Pass a CJIS background check

Essential Functions:

• Develop a deeper knowledge of primarily audit with some involvement in accounting services and tax possible

• Prepares all types of accounting products for assigned clients ensuring that all financial data are recorded consistent with established policies and procedures, including compilations, projections, reviews, etc.

• Planning, budgeting, time control, working with client personnel, client relations, and possibly supervising staff interns on projects.

• Possibly prepare business and personal tax returns as well as tax planning projects. Identify tax issues and solutions. Deliver and consult with clients on tax projects.

• Consults with the manager or partner(s) on problems offering recommendations concerning solutions.

• Develops efficiencies and looks for value-added opportunities for clients
