Our partner firm, RRBB Accountants + Advisors based in Somerset, NJ is hiring!

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Tax Associate to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone beginning their career in public accounting or with up to 2 years of tax experience. The role offers exposure to a wide range of clients including closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals, providing an excellent foundation for career development in tax.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing federal and state tax returns for small to medium-sized businesses (Forms 1065 and 1120S), including multi-state filings

  • Import and reconcile client trial balances into tax preparation software

  • Support the review process by checking trial balances for accuracy and assisting in identifying timing differences

  • Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040), including those involving multiple K-1s and multi-state filings

  • Conduct basic tax research on federal, state, and local tax matters

  • Communicate with clients to gather tax documents and clarify information

  • Stay current on changes in tax laws and compliance requirements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred

  • 0–2 years of experience in public accounting or tax (internships accepted)

  • Familiarity with common IRS forms such as 1065, 1120S, and 1040

  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar)

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Multi-lingual a plus (Portuguese, Italian and/or Spanish preferred based on demographics and client list).


Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to multi-state or composite tax filings

  • Interest in continued learning and professional growth


This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting business needs.

We are excited to invite talented individuals to join our dynamic team! This position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
