TRAINING & COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

Objective:

The Training & Compliance Coordinator curates, coordinates, and champions firm training and compliance programs to help employees develop, apply, and own their skills. This full-time, professional role will design and deliver firm-wide learning strategies that develop our people and support firm goals in technical excellence, leadership, client service, and culture.

Essential Functions:

1. Design and Lead Training Strategy: Develop and implement a cohesive training calendar that includes technical, professional, leadership, and culture-based learning programs. Align the learning approach with firm strategic goals and internal development frameworks.

2. Coordinate Signature Training Programs:
Oversee, facilitate, and coordinate firm-led training experiences including:

a. Culture Training (Abacus Kickstart, New Hire Orientation Curriculum, Culture Guide Refreshers)

b. Career Growth Training (Soft Skills, Performance Development, Utilizing Career Growth Guide)

c. Technical Training (CPA-required, maintain credentials, software-specific, client service)

d. Leadership the Abacus Way (design, scheduling, content, support)

e. Supervisor Training

f. Lunch & Learns (content calendar, facilitator coordination, tracking)

3. Ensure Compliance Standards: Maintain awareness of AICPA and NASBA guidelines. Oversee required compliance for all internal and external CPE offerings, including peer review planning. Track and support licensure, certifications, and compliance documentation.

4. Maintain Learning Records & Systems: Manage the Learning Management Software (LMS), ensuring all CPE and internal courses are logged, accessible, and user-friendly. Act as system administrator and employee support resource.

5. Coach Employees in Their Learning Journey: Help employees understand their individual learning paths, recommend appropriate internal and external training opportunities, and connect learning to their role growth and performance goals.

6. Support External Training & Client Education: Coordinate logistics and support for employees attending or delivering external training. Assist in developing and delivering training opportunities for clients as needed.

7. Evaluate Training Impact: Monitor, track, and evaluate training participation, feedback, and effectiveness. Make strategic recommendations for enhancements.

8. Steward Firm Resources: Manage spending & investment costs and vendor relationships related to training. Make wise, value-added decisions that advance firm education and development.

Supervisory Responsibility

Reports directly to the Catalyst of Excellence

No direct supervisory responsibilities, but high levels of cross-functional coordination, public speaking and instruction.

Position Expectations & Work Environment

Full-time, salaried, exempt role with flexibility in work hours and location

Primarily based in Springfield, MO; some travel to other offices and participation or travel may be needed for key events

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, HR, or related field

3+ years of experience in training, professional development, or people strategy preferred

Knowledge of LMS systems and training compliance preferred
