Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive In-House Construction Project Manager to coordinate and oversee the planning, bid process, milestone delivery, and completion of construction projects within our organization. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of construction operations from project conception through close-out, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in construction management with project planning and execution across multiple sites in tandem, as well as demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage all phases of construction projects including design coordination, permitting, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Prepare detailed project scopes, timelines, and budgets, track and report progress regularly.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to ensure project specifications are met.
- Coordinate and supervise on-site construction activities and ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
- Manage procurement of materials and services; evaluate bids and negotiate contracts.
- Perform quality control inspections and resolve issues as they arise during construction.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects, with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Maintain project documentation, including change orders, invoices, and progress reports.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and implement lessons learned into future projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing multiple commercial/industrial construction projects simultaneously, preferably in an in-house or owner-representative role.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, permitting processes, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Builder trend).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders, vendors, and contractors in a fast-paced environment.
- PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with frequent site visits required.
- Must be able to navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders and lifting moderately heavy materials when needed.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on project timelines.
