ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Seasonal HR Assistant to join our team at our Riverview Distribution Center. This role supports the daily operations of the HR department and acts as a key point of contact for employees. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, approachable, and able to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced warehouse environment.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Perform clerical functions for the HR staff including maintaining accurate employment files
- Process status changes, terminations, and updating employee information in HR systems.
- Support payroll processing through data entry and coordination with the payroll team.
- Review and maintain employee files
- Compile data from the HRIS system and prepare reports
- Screen telephone calls and incoming mail
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries (attendance, payroll, benefits, policies, procedures).
- Support daily HR operations, including inbox management, Slack communication, voicemail follow-up, and engagement walk-throughs.
- Ensure accurate, timely processing and auditing of timesheets and payroll entries.
- Manage new hire orientation and onboarding documentation, including E-Verify and HRIS updates.
- Maintain confidential and organized employee records and ensure compliance with audits and employment laws.
- Coordinate and support internal recognition programs, HR bulletin boards, and employee engagement activities.
- Assist in processing employment verifications.
- Collaborate with leadership to support HR communications, compliance, and operations meetings.
- Replenish and maintain benefits materials.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in an HR support or coordinator role; warehouse or distribution center experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and HRIS systems (Oracle, ADP preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to independently prioritize daily and weekly tasks.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes extended hours during peak periods.
- This role is onsite and requires regular walking throughout the facility.
- Schedule may include weekends or extended hours during critical periods such as payroll or peak season.
