Strategic Associate, Trading Cards
Fanatics
Strategic Associate, Trading Cards
Job Description
The Role
This is it. The dream gig. Fanatics is on the hunt for a Strategic Associate, Trading Cards to join our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team. If you're the person who knew about that record-breaking sale before it hit the internet, who has strong takes on grading companies, and who treats PSA pop reports like morning coffee — keep reading.
You'll help lead our charge into the trading card universe by spotting trends, sizing up opportunities, and using insights to drive the game. Whether it's sports legends, entertainment icons, or emerging IP, you're not just following the market — you're helping build it.
Let’s be real: if you’re a collector, this is the greatest job in the history of sports and entertainment.
What You’ll Do:
- Be the in-house card whisperer. Spot trends before they hit mainstream and help us stay five steps ahead of the collectibles game.
- Identify and evaluate acquisition targets and investment opportunities across trading cards, entertainment IP, and collectibles.
- Work with the financials. You’ll contribute to modeling, due diligence, and presentations, bringing analytical rigor and a thoughtful approach to the team.
- Hit the road. Travel to major card shows, conventions, and collector events — building relationships, spotting trends, and soaking up the culture — you’ll be our eyes, ears, and handshake in the collectibles world.
- Communicate and educate. Build clear, compelling presentations and communicate market insights to senior leaders across Fanatics — helping the broader team understand what’s happening, why it matters, and where we go next.
What We're Looking For:
- 2–4 years in investment banking, private equity, VC, corporate development, consulting, or a similar field requiring strong data analysis and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of the trading card market — across sports, entertainment IP, and everything in between.
- A true collector’s mindset: curious, detail-obsessed, and borderline evangelical about what makes something collectible.
- Strong modeling and analytical skills.
- Killer communication skills — whether you're breaking down a model or pitching a vision, you can translate complex ideas into plain English and know how to manage up, keeping senior stakeholders informed, aligned, and fired up.
- Ability to thrive in organized chaos. We move fast. So should you.
Why You’ll Love It Here
- You’ll help shape the future of trading cards on a global scale.
- You’ll work alongside smart, driven, genuinely cool people who love this space.
- You'll be trusted with real responsibility —real decisions, real impact.
- We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and bragging rights for life
Achieving our goals requires strong collaboration and partnership between our teams and our internal stakeholders. To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be on site, in office four days per week. To provide our employees with flexibility, we offer a unique benefit where employees at Fanatics' corporate entity can work remotely for up to four weeks per year, which can be taken in daily or weekly increments.
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
