Senior Data Engineer - NCF
Fanatics
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to help build and evolve the foundation of our data platform. You’ll design, develop, and support scalable data pipelines that power analytics, insights, and data-driven decision making across Fanatics Collectibles. This is a role for a strong self-starter who thrives on solving complex data challenges and taking ownership from design through production.
What You’ll Do- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using AWS data services such as Kinesis Streams, Amazon Firehose, S3 Tables, Glue, Lambda, and Athena.
- Build and optimize Snowflake data models and integrations that serve as the backbone of enterprise analytics.
- Play a key role in building our data platform from the ground up, enabling teams across the organization to access and trust their data.
- Develop and maintain data catalogs, schemas, and lineage to improve discoverability and governance.
- Implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Collaborate with software and platform engineers to integrate event-driven data pipelines across core systems.
- Automate workflows and deployment of data infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Partner closely with analytics and business stakeholders to understand use cases, define SLAs, and deliver trusted datasets.
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production data pipelines using AWS Data Services (Kinesis, Firehose, S3 Tables, Glue, Athena, Lambda, etc.).
- Proven experience building or scaling a data platform from scratch or during a modernization effort.
- Hands-on experience with the Snowflake ecosystem (data modeling, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Role-Based Access Control, and performance optimization).
- Strong understanding of data cataloging, lineage, and data quality measurement.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, transformation, and automation.
- Familiarity with streaming and batch architectures, and experience supporting near real-time data use cases.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or dbt.
- Comfortable working with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines for data workloads.
- A self-starter mindset — proactive in identifying opportunities, solving problems, and driving improvements without heavy direction.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and product teams.
- Experience with data observability platforms (e.g., Monte Carlo, Databand, Great Expectations).
- Exposure to data mesh or domain-oriented data ownership models.
- Familiarity with AWS Lake Formation, Redshift, or Glue Data Catalog.
- Prior experience working in consumer products, e-commerce, or media/collectibles environments.
