Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager – Platform Engineering to build and lead a new EMEA-based Platform Engineering team located in the UK or Ireland. This role will manage a local team of platform engineers and partner closely with our US-based Platform Engineering organization to expand platform coverage, reliability, and developer support across EMEA/US time zones. The role reports to a Senior Engineering Manager of Platform Engineering.

• Build and lead a UK/Ireland-based Platform Engineering team supporting EMEA and US on-call
• Partner closely with the US-based Platform Engineering team on shared roadmaps, delivery, and technical standards
• Expand EMEA platform coverage, improving responsiveness and operational support across time zones
• Drive a product mindset for internal platforms, treating developers as customers and measuring success through adoption and reliability
• Collaborate with application engineering teams across regions to understand needs and unblock delivery
• Communicate effectively across distributed teams, providing clear updates, surfacing risks, and driving alignment
• Ensure platform reliability through observability, automation, incident response, and operational best practices
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud, platform engineering, and security through continuous learning—evaluating and adopting new tools and practices collaboratively with the team

• 10+ years of experience in software, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• 5+ years of experience managing and scaling high-performance engineering teams with demonstrated people-centered leadership approach
• Strong technical background or familiarity in:
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Kubernetes and containerized platforms
  • CI/CD and GitOps-based workflows
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
  • Incident management
• Experience operating and scaling platforms in large, distributed systems.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
• Experience managing distributed or remote teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment with emphasis on psychological safety and open communication is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of delivering outcomes through others

• Experience leading developer experience or internal platform product initiatives
• Background in regulated, high-availability environments
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and their application to developer productivity
• Experience in high-growth or fast-paced engineering organizations

This role includes periodic travel to the United States for team offsites, planning sessions, and cross-team collaboration. Additional travel within EMEA may be required for team meetings or company events.

The expected salary range for this role is based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and will vary based on location. This position is eligible for the Fanatics Betting & Gaming annual bonus program and equity award, where applicable.
