The primary responsibilities of the Sourcing Operations Manager (SOM) will be to direct all aspects of Import Purchase Orders (POs) from pre-PO issuance planning, receipt of POs, materials planning, production tracking, logistics booking through to handing over the goods over at the Port/Carrier. This role will own POs from issuance through receipt at Fanatics
The SOM is responsible for managing multiple teams to drive accurate and timely production status reporting each week. This position works closely with supplier’s owners, factory management and production leaders to drive on time, efficient production, manage projects to the planned timelines and executes effective production flow of finished goods. This leadership position will work to proactively identify and mitigate all risks that may result in late deliveries or quality rejections. This position will manage their teams to gather, consolidate, compile, and interpretate supplier information regarding the production processes for the suppliers their teams manage and to negotiate effective and efficient delivery dates for assigned purchase orders. This position will supervise the capacity plan allocation for all supplier’s production, as well as final customer value added service requirements.
The ideal candidate must have experience working with the supply chain end to end and have knowledge of vertical manufacturing methodology to develop and implement monitoring and follow up systems.
Travel to supplier locations in various countries to hold leadership meetings, set strategies, confirm production tracking to schedule and conduct performance reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the following functions in the PCC.
- Regular Production follow up
- Samples follow up
- PO maintenance
- Materials production follow up (raw materials)
- Logistics
- Develop and lead a team across multiple countries where production is executed to comply with the funtions explained above.
- Create strategy for areas of responsibility. Delivering on OTP, WIP, PO Confirmation tactical, growing capacity, expanded building/capacity, additional sub contractors to increase projected volume increases etc.
- Drive collaboration on pre-PO activities: planning, capacity, allocation, materials, production ready, calendar alignment to ensure successful production.
- Negotiate with supplier to secure the capacity, production lines necessary to ensure on time deliveries.
- Create standard meetings with factory to review performance metrics, drive strategy alignment and negotiate aspects related to costs, corrective action plans, expedited shipments, etc.
- Drive special and ad hoc requests to drive business results.
- Manage teams to deliver weekly Work In Process/ Production Status tracking reports and analyze the various manufacturing key stage gates in order to identify potential delivery/service issues.
- Lead cross functional communication regarding potential delivery delays and offers solutions to minimize impact to customer service levels.
- Oversee that POs are distributed to the Suppliers, and they acknowledge them to the SOP.
- Negotiate delivery dates with vendors that meet or exceed the requested PO dates providing high levels of customer service.
- Manage the PO confirmation process; dates, cost, minimum surcharges and Value Added Services while maintaining calendar adherence.
- Drive the teams to maintain timely and accurate PO data in systems and revise PO dates and data as needed. This includes reviewing all publications for item id changes and other changes as they arise.
- Create a team environment that can quickly mitigate issues to avoid any impact to on time deliveries, which includes determining escalations for Air Mode as required.
- Collaborate with peers in PI and PD on vendor related issues that impact production efficiencies and on time deliveries.
- Assist in resolving DC receiving issues (ASN’s, shortages, carton labels, etc.).
- Develop team weekly, monthly, or ad hoc reports reflecting the status of POs (order quantities, on time shipping, confirmation, bookings, etc.)
- Travel to supplier locations in various countries to hold leadership meetings, confirm production tracking to schedule and conduct performance reviews.
Job Requirements
- 5-10 years of related Apparel or Headwear experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial engineering or equivalent degree.
- Excellent understanding of the entire supply chain
- Detail oriented, have good analytical skills, and project management skills.
- Excellent PC software skills (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Micro Strategy, comfortable working with complex data tables)
- Excellent mathematical and financial skills.
- Good customer focused attitude, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of textile and garment construction
- Ability to work across teams, departments at all levels
- Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing, and flexible environment.
- Proven success in negotiating contracts skills
- Able to manage ambiguity, manage across high level and details.
- Strong communication skills (2 of the following: Thai and English)
- Proficient in English (please submit English version of CV)
- Multi country travel up to 25%.
