In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, inspection, and repair of warehouse infrastructure. You will play a critical role in minimising downtime by ensuring our conveyance systems and general warehouse equipment remain fully operational. This position is ideal for a hands-on individual with strong DIY aptitude and an interest in data-driven maintenance management.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on automated conveyance systems, sorters, and peripheral warehouse equipment.
- Execute general facility repairs, including but not limited to HVAC adjustments, lighting, plumbing, and structural/building fabric maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards or mechanical failures before they impact operations.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers when necessary.
Operational Documentation (CMMS)
- Utilise and maintain the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, document parts usage, and log maintenance history.
- Ensure all reactive and preventative tasks are updated in real-time, providing accurate data for facility performance reporting.
- Assist in inventory control for spare parts and maintenance consumables.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere strictly to all site safety policies, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, working at heights, and electrical safety standards.
- Ensure all work areas are maintained in a clean, organised, and safe condition.
- Support the team in conducting safety audits and maintaining compliance documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
- Hands-on Capability: Proven DIY/Handyperson skills (e.g., ability to use standard workshop tools, power drills, and measuring equipment).
- Software Proficiency: Basic computer literacy; experience with a CMMS or similar digital asset management system is highly desirable.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose root causes of equipment failure in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting tasks and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably in a warehouse environment (including heights).
- Licensing Requirement: An IPAF license is mandatory. If you do not currently hold a valid IPAF license, you will be required to pass the certification test; failure to obtain this license within the probationary period will result in the termination of employment.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or industrial facility environment.
- Experience with automated conveyor systems or industrial automation.
