Overview

Fortell is building breakthrough AI-powered hearing technology that redefines how people experience sound and connect with the world. Powered by custom silicon and advances in hearing science, our hearing aids help people hear, and live, with greater clarity and confidence.

We move fast, build with intention, and never lose sight of the people we’re building for. We’re bringing together exceptional minds in technology, science, design, and care–and we’re just getting started. If you want to help shape a new era of hearing technology, we’d love to meet you.

Retail Operations and Strategy is the launch engine behind every Fortell clinic — turning raw space into vibrant, compliant, revenue-ready environments. This role requires analytical rigor and hands-on scrappiness: negotiating LOIs, managing complex budgets, coordinating vendors, unlocking access, navigating local rules, priming new markets, and shaping the waiting and retail experience through creative collaborations and thoughtful design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Real Estate Portfolio Management: Support LOI negotiations and lease execution while managing landlord relationships across markets. Oversee lease administration, track critical dates, and ensure compliance with all lease obligations. Maintain structured reporting to support portfolio visibility and decision-making.
  • Market Entry & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliant national expansion by researching local regulations, registering clinics for required licenses and sales tax, and updating clinic forms and documentation accordingly. Partner with regulatory, legal and finance to proactively mitigate regulatory risk in new markets.
  • New Clinic Launch Planning & Budget Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Construction Project Manager on budgeting, scheduling, and milestone tracking for new clinic openings. Ensure operational readiness by coordinating landlord deliverables, vendor onboarding, and cross-functional pre-opening requirements.
  • Vendor, Facilities & Access Management: Coordinate signage vendors and ensure compliance with landlord and municipal standards. Manage local service providers (cleaning, storage, internet, utilities, maintenance) and oversee access management, including keys, credentials, and vendor access protocols. Standardize vendor relationships and service agreements across markets to support scalable growth.
  • Retail Experience & Creative Collaborations: Support and execute creative collaborations that elevate the waiting and retail experience, including programs such as artist-in-residence initiatives and interactive retail displays. Partner cross-functionally to ensure experiential elements align with brand strategy while remaining operationally feasible and scalable.
  • Clinic Collateral & Brand Materials: Oversee the production and distribution of clinic collateral, including brochures, business cards, and in-clinic informational materials. Ensure materials are brand-aligned, up to date, and compliant with local regulatory requirements across markets.
  • Local Market Activation Support: Support local activation strategies to prime new markets prior to clinic launches. Coordinate community engagement efforts and on-the-ground partnerships to drive early awareness and ensure clinics open with strong local visibility and operational readiness.

You’re the right candidate if you have

  • Experience launching brick-and-mortar locations, ideally across multiple markets, with ownership from lease execution through opening day.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional pre-opening timelines, working seamlessly across construction, operations, marketing, and vendors to ensure launch readiness.
  • Exposure to retail merchandising, in-store experience, or brand activations, with an understanding of how physical environments drive engagement and revenue.
  • Strong process discipline, with a natural instinct to build risk logs, checklists, timelines, and structured launch playbooks.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, remaining calm under pressure and comfortable improvising within real-world constraints.
  • The ability to balance detail obsession with big-picture thinking, catching small gaps while keeping momentum toward broader expansion goals.
  • A creative yet practical mindset, capable of elevating the customer experience while ensuring ideas are scalable, budget-conscious, and operationally sound.
