Who We Are

Imprint is reimagining co-branded credit cards & financial products to be smarter, more rewarding, and truly brand-first. We partner with companies like Crate & Barrel, Rakuten, Booking.com, H-E-B, Fetch, and Brooks Brothers to launch modern credit programs that deepen loyalty, unlock savings, and drive growth. Our platform combines advanced payments infrastructure, intelligent underwriting, and seamless UX to help brands offer powerful financial products—without becoming a bank.

Co-branded cards account for over $300 billion in U.S. annual spend—but most are still powered by legacy banks. Imprint is the modern alternative: flexible, tech-forward, and built for today’s consumer. Backed by Kleiner Perkins, Thrive Capital, and Khosla Ventures, we’re building a world-class team to redefine how people pay—and how brands grow. If you want to work fast, solve hard problems, and make a real impact, we’d love to meet you.

Imprint is looking for a dynamic Associate General Counsel - Product to join our growing legal team as our first product counsel. This role offers a unique opportunity to help build the legal function and partner closely with our product, compliance, engineering, and business teams. You’ll serve as a key advisor on regulatory, privacy, data security, and compliance issues that impact our product offerings, with a particular focus on the sponsor bank model, credit cards, and other consumer credit products.

The ideal candidate has significant experience in fintech, financial services, or technology, with a proven track record of working cross-functionally in fast-paced environments. This is a hands-on role where you’ll not only guide the development of innovative financial products but also support general commercial and SaaS contracting. Credit card experience is a strong plus. This role will report to the General Counsel & Chief Business Officer and be based out of the New York or San Francisco office.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product Counsel. Serve as the key advisor on regulatory, privacy,

data security, and compliance issues across Imprint’s credit card, consumer

lending, and payments products.

Translate Law into Logic. Embed directly with product managers, engineers,

and business leaders to shape product design and implementation decisions by

communicating regulatory requirements in a practical, solutions-oriented manner

that enables innovation with minimal friction.

Bank Partner Strategy. Support the structuring of products in alignment with

the sponsor bank relationships, advocating for Imprint’s product direction with

partner banks.

Regulatory Intelligence. Monitor legal and regulatory developments in

consumer finance, payments, privacy, and data security, and proactively advise

internal stakeholders on their impact to Imprint’s business.

Commercial Enablement. Negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS,

vendor, and partnership contracts.

Build Scalable Infrastructure. Contribute to building the foundation of the legal

function by shaping culture, processes, tools, and strategy.

What You’ll Bring

● J.D. and admission to at least one U.S. state bar in good standing (NY or CA

preferred).

● 7 - 10 years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of top law firm and in-house

B, UDAAP and FCRA.

● Familiarity with the sponsor bank model and related regulatory requirements.

● Working knowledge of privacy and data security laws and their application to

consumer financial products.

● Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills with attention to detail.

● Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
