Who You Are

You have a passion for numbers and informing others. You have demonstrated proficiency in manipulating large data sets and a willingness to work cross-functionally across an organization. You possess a strong working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and are ready to leverage your skills in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You have a knack for working with data and distilling the story behind the numbers to wider audiences.

As a Senior Analyst, you will work closely with Justworks leaders to improve the overall understanding of our insurance programs and help solve complex problems as we continue to evolve. You will build and maintain the reporting systems, processes, and functional strategy that the team uses to better understand the business and gain speed, accuracy, and efficiency in our day-to-day processes. The ideal candidate for this position is a data expert with great communication skills.

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

  • Organize, monitor, and analyze risk & insurance program data for consistency, quality, and opportunities
  • Perform both regular and ad hoc analyses around key business questions, translating complicated analyses into actionable insights across the Risk & Insurance division (Workers Compensation, Health Insurance, Property & Casualty)
  • Develop, manage, and publish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve performance and inform short and long term vision of the team
  • Own the analytical components of insurance processes including renewals, policy audit, accrual, and reserving.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the software and systems the Risk & Insurance team uses
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of the Risk & Insurance team on Justworks
  • Provide analytical support to Risk & Insurance teams as needed, including process optimization and automation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with SQL and translating complex data questions into meaningful insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting/finance, investment banking, or consulting experience or similar field
  • Advanced SQL and Excel experience required
  • Experience working with Tableau or similar BI/data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with business process management activities (process mapping, improvement, implementation, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of insurance analysis preferred

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $97,000.00 - $106,700.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
