Nourish is on a mission to improve people’s health by making it easy to eat well. More than half of Americans have a chronic condition related to what they eat, and poor nutrition is the number one driver of preventable death. We are spending more than ever on healthcare, yet life expectancy has gone down multiple years in a row for the first time in a century.
Nourish is addressing this healthcare crisis by helping people eat better. We connect chronic disease patients with a Registered Dietitian via telehealth and get it covered by their health insurance. This helps transform food from the cause of disease to medicine that is the solution.
We launched one year ago and already have >125 dietitians and thousands of patients on the platform. Our patients span a wide range of nutrition-related conditions including diabetes, eating disorders, kidney disease, GI conditions, cancer, obesity / weight management, cardiovascular disease, and more. About your role
As Head of Clinical Quality, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end quality of clinical care delivery at Nourish. You will be responsible for making our wider RD team successful and owning our patient outcomes and clinical metrics. You’ll also support our RD hiring & onboarding process and our training and ongoing coaching / education for RDs.
This role will be part Leader, part Operator, directly responsible for the development and engagement of a growing team of Registered Dietitians and for defining and executing on clinical quality strategy. You’ll work cross-functionally to support key clinical initiatives across the company including marketing and product. You will report to Nourish’s co-founder / CEO and work closely with Nourish team members across all areas of the company.
After life-changing experiences working with RDs but paying out-of-pocket, our founding team became passionate about expanding access to nutritional care and advocating for RDs. We are looking for candidates who care deeply about helping patients and are excited about joining a fast-growing startup (backed by some of the world’s best healthcare investors) that is expanding access to nutritional therapy and improving the American healthcare system.
This role is full-time. In-person in the Nourish NYC office is preferred, although remote will be considered for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities:
Monitor the performance of our RDs using clinical data and identify potential improvement areas within our processes and team that will deliver world-class patient outcomes and clinical metrics
Manage the Clinical Managers who support our broader RD team
Support the development of the clinical Nourish product including clinical program design, care pathways, patient and RD-facing tech, and care delivery strategy to improve our patient outcomes and experience
Create a world-class RD community & culture to ensure Nourish remains the best place in the country for RDs to work. We advocate for RDs and want to "put RDs on the map"
Ensure the clinical success of RD hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching / support / education. This means supporting these processes as it pertains to clinical outcomes / RD success
We’d love to hear from you if:
You are an RD or MD
You have 10+ years of experience
You have experience as a manager / team leader, an individual care provider, and as an operator (remote experience a nice-to-have)
Demonstrated success in medical management, including leadership experience in outcomes measurement, clinical process evaluation, and quality improvement
You have experience at a startup / fast-growing company (digital health experience preferred)
You thrive in a fast-moving environment and are not intimidated by ambiguity or change. You enjoy new challenges and jump in headfirst when facing an issue
You have strong clinical knowledge but can also be a strong business operator
You have an aptitude for and interest in working with technology
You are analytical and comfortable with using data to make decisions
