Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Customer Marketing Lead to define and scale Plaid’s customer marketing program. In this role, you will develop and implement programs that build long-term customer relationships, elevate success stories, and inspire advocacy across our ecosystem. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Marketing, Communications, Growth, and Brand to craft content and experiences that spotlight our customers and fuel business impact. This is a high-impact role for a marketer who loves storytelling, thrives on building from the ground up, and is eager to partner with some of the most innovative companies of today.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and scale Plaid’s customer marketing strategy, aligning programs to company goals and marketing initiatives.
  • Lead customer storytelling efforts, transforming success into compelling case studies, videos, blog posts, and other assets.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Comms, Product Marketing, and Growth to identify and engage high-impact customer advocates.
  • Develop multi-channel programs that amplify customer stories across campaigns, events, PR, and social.
  • Create scalable systems to manage referenceable customers, speaker bureaus, and co-marketing opportunities.
  • Design and launch community and loyalty initiatives that deepen engagement and brand affinity.
  • Track performance, report on impact, and iterate based on key success metrics and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Have 8+ years of B2B marketing experience, ideally in SaaS, APIs, or fintech.
  • Excel in storytelling and content creation, from short-form video to long-form written pieces.
  • Are customer-obsessed and comfortable engaging directly with executives and practitioners to develop strong, trusted relationships.
  • Have strong program management skills and a history of driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Are data-driven and eager to understand and report on the business impact of your work.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments with a bias for action and iteration.
  • Experience building customer reference programs, community initiatives, or customer advisory boards (CABs).
  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana, and CMS platforms.
  • A background in financial technology or a passion for explaining complex concepts in digestible, engaging ways.
Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences. We encourage you to apply to a role even if your experience doesn't fully match the job description. We are always looking for team members that will bring something unique to Plaid!
