SKIMS is seeking a strategic and analytical Director of Planning, Intimates to lead inventory and financial planning across one of our largest and fastest-growing product categories. This role will be responsible for developing and executing merchandise financial plans, driving inventory productivity, and partnering closely with Merchandising, Production, Sourcing, Operations, Finance, and Ecommerce teams to maximize sales, profitability, and inventory efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative leader with deep experience in apparel or intimates planning, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven ability to influence cross-functional partners in a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of seasonal, annual, and long-range financial plans for the Intimates business.
- Own category-level sales, margin, inventory, receipt, and turn forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Drive strategic inventory investments and replenishment strategies to support business growth while minimizing risk.
- Analyze historical trends, current performance, and future opportunities to identify risks and recommend actionable solutions.
- Partner closely with Merchandising to develop assortment strategies that support financial goals and customer demand.
- Collaborate with Production and Sourcing teams to optimize inventory flow, lead times, and product availability.
- Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews, presenting financial performance, opportunities, and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Develop and maintain forecasting models to improve inventory productivity and demand planning accuracy.
- Monitor in-season performance and proactively adjust forecasts, inventory positions, and open-to-buy plans.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies through data and technology.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing planning team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning initiatives.
- Serve as a key thought partner to leadership, helping shape future category growth strategies.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Merchandising, or a related field
- 8+ years of merchandise planning, inventory planning, or financial planning experience within apparel, intimates, retail, or consumer products
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing and developing planning teams
- Strong understanding of merchandise financial planning, forecasting, inventory management, and open-to-buy processes
- Experience managing high-volume replenishment businesses and complex product assortments
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with planning systems and business intelligence tools preferred
- Proven ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations
- Strong executive presence with experience presenting to senior leadership teams
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working within a high-growth, consumer-focused brand is highly preferred.
