Network Software Integration Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX

SpaceX

Redmond, WA, USA
Posted on Mar 13, 2026

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

NETWORK SOFTWARE INTEGRATION ENGINEER (STARLINK)

At SpaceX we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class engineers to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the globe.

As a Network Software Integration Engineer on the Starlink program, you will develop fast and versatile integrated testing infrastructure that rethinks traditional CI/CD pipelines. Our goal is to provide customers with the best possible satellite internet experience, which is enabled by SpaceX's rapid development and testing iteration cycle.
You will be working to test and integrate a range of network software features that deploy worldwide to Starlink data centers and Starlink vehicles (satellites, laser terminals, ground stations, and user antennas). You will work closely with a wide variety of developers to validate and deploy cutting edge network features, through end-to-end integration environments to find issues and regression proof the Starlink network.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop fast and reliable integrated test systems architecture for the Starlink network.
  • Work across teams to deliver dynamic and capable end-to-end testing solutions.
  • Debug software and network failures in hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
  • Identify and resolve testing coverage gaps across the network.
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
  • Develop tools for software development and deployment, data analysis and visualization, and test execution across multiple environments, including virtualized hardware environments, real hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and on-orbit testing.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering, computer science, physics, or science discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree (internship experience is applicable).
  • Development experience in Python and/or C++.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Developed, debugged, and deployed software that has been used in real world applications/project.
  • Knowledgeable in containerization frameworks (Docker, K8s) and associated tooling.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong understanding of Linux Operating Systems and bash scripting.
  • Hands on experience with working with OSI-model layer 2 and 3.
  • Hands-on lab experience with familiarity of spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, electrical power equipment and PCBAs.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Software Engineer/Level I: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year
