Why you should join us

Tandem is a generational opportunity to rethink how we bring new therapies to market, and our path to doing so is significantly de-risked – we have:

  • Exponential organic growth: We have product-market fit and are growing rapidly through word-of-mouth. Tandem supports thousands of patients every day, is doubling doctor users every quarter, and is working with the largest biopharma companies in the world.

  • An AI-first business model: Our approach is distinctly enabled by AI, but our business will get stronger (not commoditized) as foundation models improve. We are building durability through two-sided network effects that will compound over time.

  • Top tier investors: With the traction to support conviction in our model, we raised significant funding from investors (including Thrive Capital, General Catalyst, Bain Capital Ventures, and Pear VC) to build an exceptional team of engineers and operators.

Our number one priority is scaling to market demand. We are looking for individuals who are high horsepower, high throughput, and hyper resourceful to help us increase capacity and grow. We move fast and need to move faster.

All full-time roles are in person in New York. You can learn more about working with us in the last section of this page.

About the role

As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will operate as a force multiplier — helping drive the company’s most important relationships, decisions, and internal priorities forward. You will work across the entire organization, with visibility into everything from product strategy to go-to-market execution to investor management. You will sit in on the CEO’s meetings, manage information flow, coordinate follow-through, and step in wherever necessary to make sure high-leverage work gets done. This is a highly trusted role, central to ensuring Tandem moves fast, stays aligned, and operates with focus.

You will be expected to build deep context on our business, our evolving goals, and the broader ecosystem in which we operate. You will manage communication and prioritization, help prepare for and run key meetings, track actions and decisions, and own urgent cross-functional projects that don’t neatly fall into anyone else’s lane. This is a role for someone with both generalist horsepower and the willingness to do whatever it takes — from high-level decision support to hands-on coordination.

This is a demanding role, with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. You will be expected to “act like an owner” and commit yourself to Tandem’s success. If you are low-ego, hyper-organized, and excited about intense, high-trust work with a direct line to impact, we want to hear from you.

If you join, you will:

  • Own critical workflows, projects, and priorities that directly support the CEO and the company’s most important outcomes

  • Manage internal priorities, decision-making cadences, and executive workflows to ensure clarity, alignment, and follow-through

  • Sit in on high-stakes external meetings — including with clients, investors, and partners — and ensure we prepare, follow up, and drive results

  • Write and respond to key communications on behalf of the CEO, with a focus on clarity, speed, and judgment

  • Help organize and execute internal planning, goal-tracking, and leadership communication across the company

  • Serve as a trusted problem-solver and thought partner to the CEO across business areas, decisions, and company-level execution

  • Own urgent, high-leverage projects that cut across functions — including GTM, operations, recruiting, and product

We’ll be most excited if you have:

  • 4–8 years of experience working in an environment that required analytical problem-solving, operational rigor, and outcome ownership (e.g., fast-growing startup, consulting, finance, a 0 -> 1 business line at a high-performing organization)

  • Technical background and/or experience working with complex data (at minimum the role requires learning SQL and low-code tools)

  • Strong written and verbal communication that allows you to be an effective participant in both internal debates and external relationships

  • Track record of moving quickly, finding shortcuts, and going to unreasonable lengths to deliver on goals

  • High NPS with your former teammates

This is a list of ideal qualifications for this position. If you don't meet every single one of them, you should still consider applying! We’re excited to work with people from underrepresented backgrounds, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
